Los Porteños - MED, CO
Los Porteños is an Argentine pastry brand born in Medellín from one porteño’s desire to keep the flavors of home close and share them with a new city. What began in Agustín’s home kitchen grew into a beloved local business and, eventually, a place people could walk into and experience for themselves.
THE RESTAURANT
An argentinian bakery built around the culture and personality of his founder, Agustin.Los Porteños begins with Agustín, an Argentine pastry chef who grew up in Buenos Aires and unexpectedly found a new home in Medellín. Through medialunas, alfajores, pasta frola and other Argentine classics, he found a way to preserve the flavors he grew up with while introducing them to a Colombian audience. His personality is inseparable from the brand: warm, expressive and unmistakably porteño, he loves being with customers, telling stories and sharing where the food comes from. At its heart, Los Porteños is about preserving the flavors Agustín grew up with and sharing them with the city he now calls home.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Going from a home-ran business to opening a physical restaurant When we first met Los Porteños, the business was still operating from Agustín’s home and selling through delivery. Growing demand was about to take the brand into its next chapter: its first public location on one of the busiest food destinations of the city. The opportunity was to turn a personality-driven home business into a complete restaurant brand — one that could live confidently across a storefront, packaging, menus, signage and digital touchpoints without losing the warmth and spontaneity that had made people connect with Agustín in the first place.
OUR APPROACH
Modern nostalgia of home flavorsWe treated Agustín’s story as the foundation rather than simply designing an “Argentine-looking” bakery. Argentina gave us the visual roots — the blue and white of the flag, the warmth of the golden sun, familiar pastries and the unmistakable character of Buenos Aires — while Medellín represented the place where that story was beginning again.
The connection was personal for us as well. Our designer and co-founder, Daniel, also grew up in Argentina and immediately understood the nostalgia behind the food and the experience Agustín wanted to create. Having known the business from its early home-based days, he approached the project as a chance to help give physical form to a story he had watched grow from the beginning.

THE INSPIRATION
We drew from the everyday visual culture of Argentina rather than relying on literal national symbols: neighborhood bakeries, traditional pastry packaging, bold street graphics, hand-drawn food illustrations and the confident typography found throughout Buenos Aires. Blue, white and sun-inspired yellow became the foundation of a bright, recognizable palette, while the medialuna developed into a recurring graphic element that could appear anywhere from wrapping paper to merchandise.
The goal was a world that felt nostalgic without feeling old-fashioned — familiar to someone who grew up in Argentina, but fresh, joyful and inviting to someone discovering it for the first time.

THE IMPACT
The result was a complete visual system that allowed Los Porteños to make the leap from a home-based business into a brand people could physically step into. The identity extended naturally across menus, packaging, food paper, signage, light boxes, printed materials, merchandise and digital applications, giving the growing business a consistent and instantly recognizable presence.
Most importantly, the branding gave Agustín a larger stage for what had always made Los Porteños special: his food, his story and his ability to make a little piece of Buenos Aires feel at home in Medellín.
